Lot 261 King Edward Cigars Punchboard
What is a punchboard you ask? Well, it's part slot machine and part scratch ticket. Punchboards were used in general stores and Taverns from the early 1900's. Punchboards are considered gambling devices and viewed as a precursor to modern-day pull-tab's. Players paid for a chance to take a punch at the board and see if they could win. Size is 9 5/8" x 6 3/4" x 5/8" thick. The board is intact with punch key still sealed in the back. This punchboard has posted numbers that if you matched them you received different amounts of cigars as your payout. A great piece of vintage advertising and gambling al rolled into one item
